The
opportunity
Reporting to the
Senior Project Engineer, this position plays a critical role in the
successful execution and delivery of engineering projects within Manningham's unique
topographic and environmental landscape. The position is responsible for all
stages of design and drafting, from concept and planning to design development,
tender, and construction set production, ensuring compliance with industry
specifications.
Additional
responsibilities include utilizing surveying capabilities, coordinating
cross-functional teams, overseeing project planning, ensuring projects are
completed on time and within budget.
This role is
essential for achieving key project milestones, enhancing operational
efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the
organization.
Key activities of the role include:
- Prepare and develop design layouts and detailed drawings, ensuring
accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Deliver high quality and comprehensive project delivery activities in
the stages of concept, planning, detail design and drafting of civil
projects.
- Maintain high-quality and technical standards in all aspects of your
work, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and guidelines.
- Work closely with other engineers to enhance technical skills and
contribute effectively to project outcomes.
- Actively engage in problem-solving as a key member of the project
team, addressing challenges and contributing to innovative
solutions.
- Supervise the delivery of multiple civil capital projects on time and
within budget in line with organisational requirements.
- Engage and negotiate with our community in a timely manner and
meaningful way that optimises deliverables for Manningham.
About you
- Equivalent of a Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with
experience in the design of traffic treatments, shared path projects
and/or drainage.
- A professional with ability to undertake the design of complex
civil projects.
- A project delivery professional who is able to effectively and
economically plan and implement the design process in line
with Council requirements, industry standards and legislative
requirements.
- A problem solver, able to resolve design issues including
cultural heritage, planning and environmental impacts.
- Experienced in the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and / or Civil Site Design
for the design of roads, drains and traffic improvement works is
essential.
- A project delivery professional who is able to supervise consultants
in the delivery of acceptable design solutions.
- Experience in ESD and managing construction contracts is desirable.
