Willoughby City Council is seeking an experienced and outcomes-driven leader to manage the delivery of Council's capital works program from planning through to completion. This is a senior leadership opportunity to oversee a significant portfolio of infrastructure and community projects, lead experienced project professionals, and deliver visible outcomes for the community.

About the role
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of Council's capital works program.
- Oversee project planning, design coordination, procurement and construction delivery.
- Manage budgets, forecasting, resources, quality assurance and reporting.
- Ensure strong governance, risk management, compliance and contract performance.
- Drive innovation, continuous improvement and service excellence across project delivery.
- Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide high-level advice to executive leaders and Council.
What you will bring
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience delivering complex capital works or infrastructure projects.
- Proven success leading experienced project delivery teams.
- Strong procurement, contract management, financial and commercial capability.
- Sound understanding of governance and compliance in government or other regulated environments.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to balance risk, delivery priorities and community expectations.
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Project management certification such as PRINCE2 or PMP.
- Technical background in engineering, construction or architecture.
