What’s On Offer?
An exciting opportunity to join our Engineering team and play a key role in shaping the City’s traffic and transport network.
In this role, you will undertake and coordinate traffic engineering investigations, surveys, design and drafting works, and assist in the delivery of traffic management capital projects. You’ll contribute to improving road safety, accessibility and active transport outcomes across the City.
Working closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors and the community, you will provide technical advice and support on a wide range of traffic-related matters, including Local Area Traffic Management (LATM), traffic impact assessments, and road safety initiatives.

What You’ll Need
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and/or substantial experience in traffic engineering
- Sound knowledge of traffic engineering design, including signage, line marking and innovative traffic solutions
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and Austroads guidelines
- Experience in traffic data collection, analysis and reporting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and the community
- Experience in coordinating consultants and contractors
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) schemes and community consultation processes
- Advanced Worksite Traffic Management (AWTM) accreditation
- Well-developed organisational, analytical and report writing skills
- Proficiency in relevant computer software (including AutoCAD/Civil3D desirable)
- Current driver’s licence
Desirable:
- Experience within Local Government
- Road Safety Auditor accreditation
- Experience assessing Traffic Impact Assessments (TIAs) and development applications
