About the opportunity
Are you a safety-obsessed professional, ready to learn and take the next step in your Health, Safety & Compliance career?
Toll is seeking a Health, Safety & Compliance Advisor to support our Inpex contract in Darwin. This role is the site focal point for all HSE matters and plays a critical role in driving safe operations, strengthening safety culture, and ensuring compliance with legislative, customer and Toll requirements.
Working closely with the Operations Manager and Regional HSE leadership, you will provide practical, hands-on HSE support while continuing to build your capability within a structured, well-supported environment.
Key responsibilities
- Drive and embed Toll’s Safety Obsessed culture at site level
- Partner with site leadership to enable safe, compliant operations
- Provide practical HSE advice aligned with legislation, Toll standards and customer expectations
- Implement, maintain and continually improve the GHSEQ Management System
- Support site HSE planning, risk registers, inspections and audits
- Act as site TRAC Super User, ensuring high-quality reporting and data accuracy
- Support and lead incident investigations, corrective actions and trend analysis
- Deliver HSE training, toolbox talks and safety communications
- Build effective relationships with customers and subcontractors to lift HSE performance
- Support emergency preparedness activities, audits, contractor pre-qualification and licensing requirements
- Stop unsafe work and escalate critical HSE risks when required
About you
You are a practical, safety-focused professional who is motivated to learn, grow and build depth in your HSE career. You enjoy working closely with operations, influencing safety outcomes, and continuously developing your technical and leadership capability.
Qualifications & experience
- Certificate IV (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety
- Working knowledge of WHS and environmental legislation
- Exposure to HSE management systems and audits
- Incident investigation experience (ICAM preferred)
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage at all levels
- Ability to work autonomously while being open to learning and development
