We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Coordinator Grants & Research to enhance organisational funding outcomes through the strategic identification, acquisition, and end-to-end coordination of external grant opportunities.
This is a newly created, high‑impact role offering a unique opportunity to shape and lead the organisation's approach to external funding from the ground up. You will play a pivotal role in strengthening funding outcomes by researching, strategically identifying, securing, and managing external grant opportunities that enable priority programs and initiatives to thrive.
You will manage the full grants lifecycle - developing high‑quality, evidence‑based applications, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and overseeing the governance, management, and reporting of awarded funds. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will play a key role in securing sustainable funding and building strong, credible relationships with funding bodies and stakeholders.
Essential:
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Management, Communications, Public Administration, or a closely related field and extensive relevant work experience.
- Proven capacity to evaluate complex information, interpret funding guidelines, and exercise sound judgement in crafting persuasive grant submissions, award submissions and comprehensive reports.
- Exceptional aptitude for conducting in-depth research and simplifying intricate concepts into clear, concise, and compelling documents for varied grant bodies and tailoring messaging for diverse audiences.
- Highly developed written, verbal and analytical skills, demonstrating advanced analytical, research and problem-solving
- Strong understanding of financial principles and governance, ensuring adherence to funding agreements and regulatory standards.
- Ability to foster productive partnerships with funding bodies, internal stakeholders, and community organisations, using diplomacy and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible and resilient in navigating changes to funding policies, priorities, and deadlines, responding proactively to emerging opportunities and challenges.
- Class C Drivers Licence
Desirable:
- Thorough records management, documentation, and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance at every stage.
- Well-developed ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities with efficiency and reliability.
- Experience with MS Office Suite and SmartyGrants system
- Demonstrated understanding of grant funding criteria and successful approaches to securing funding in a Local Government environment
