We are looking for and experienced Arboricultural Maintenance Officer to join our Operations Team working within the Parks Team. You will have a strong awareness and commitment to safety, strong communication, time management and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work well within a team-based environment. Some core functions include but not limited to:
- Operate plant such as a Truck and Mobile Mulcher/Chipper along with other plant and equipment as requested by the Supervisor or Manager in a safe and efficient manner which will assist in the daily maintenance of the Shire's road and municipal infrastructure through tree and verge maintenance.
- Operate small plant and equipment such as chainsaw, whipper snipper and pole saw.
- Undertake best practice pruning technics.
- Conduct routine and scheduled checking and required minor maintenance of plant and equipment daily to ensure that plant and equipment is in good operating order.
- Undertake manual tasks using hand tools, mechanical equipment or measuring equipment.
- Be available for call out in emergencies.
Our preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate the following experiences and skillset:
- Arboriculture qualification or extensive relevant experience.
- Relevant certificates or tickets and experience in operation of chainsaws, truck and chippers.
- Blue or White Construction Card.
- Understanding and use of electronic recording systems for work orders and inspections
- First Aid Certification
- Current HR Class licence.
Desirable Criteria
- Sound knowledge of maintenance principles for municipal infrastructure works and services.
- Demonstrated ability to perform user maintenance on minor to medium items of plant and equipment.
- AHC30820 Certificate in Arboriculture
- Operate plant such as a Loader, Skid Steer Mulcher and or Excavator
- Current Traffic Management ticket.
