The Opportunity
As the International Engagement Officer in the City of Perth, you will support the delivery of strategic international engagement initiatives that strengthen the City’s economic, cultural and diplomatic relationships. Working across a range of global partnerships, Sister City relationships and international programs, you will help maximise opportunities that contribute to the City’s Economic Development Strategy and broader international engagement objectives.
Reporting to the Principal International Engagement within our Economic Development team, your responsibilities would primarily include:
- Coordinating and delivering international engagement programs, initiatives and delegation activities;
- Building and maintaining relationships with Sister Cities, government agencies, business chambers and international stakeholders;
- Preparing briefing notes, presentations, correspondence and strategic advice relating to international engagement activities; and
- Supporting projects and initiatives that strengthen international trade, economic development and cultural partnerships.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
- Demonstrated experience coordinating and delivering projects, programs or initiatives;
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse groups;
- Experience working with government agencies, organisations or international stakeholders; and
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional reports, briefings and correspondence.
