Are you an experienced civil leader ready to take the next step in local government infrastructure delivery?
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Civil Works Team Leader to lead maintenance and construction works across Council’s civil infrastructure. This role is responsible for supervising multi-skilled teams and contractors to deliver high-quality, cost-effective outcomes that meet industry best practice, safety standards and environmental considerations.
Based at our Fletcher Street Depot, which is a short stroll from Bondi Junction rail, bus stations and shopping Centre.
Essential Criteria
- Extensive experience in a leadership role in operations, parks or waste/cleansing in local government environment.
- Successful completion of Certificate IV in a Civil Operational Certificate or equivalent experience through work history or as awarded through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
- MR Drivers Licence.
- Workcover WH&S General Induction for Construction Work in NSW.
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to plan and coordinate civil works, follow directions and carry out work to set standards.
- Willing to obtain TfNSW Traffic Controller and TfNSW Implement Traffic Control Plans.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, and knowledge of Microsoft suite of products.
- Experience or skills in completing electronic work records and other required reports and communication.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and monitoring WHS, Risk Management and Environmental Protection principles.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to EEO & WHS principles.
- Capable of working within the physical requirements in Section D of the Position Description.
Desirable Criteria
- Currently undertaking or completion of Diploma of Project Management certificate or equivalent experience through work history or as awarded through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation and managements of budgets.
- Experience in managing contractors within a civil construction environment.
- TfNSW Prepare a Work Zone Traffic Management Plan.
- HR Licence.
