About the role
You will be responsible for providing cyber security, risk and relevant technical expertise to support Council’s cyber security posture. You will proactively monitor and maintain the security and integrity of Council’s Information Technology infrastructure and resources and ensure the efficient planning, implementation and application of information technology to support Council’s service delivery.
You will have worked for many years as a senior
network engineer. With your technical knowledge, you will also be
responsible for all aspects of the Corporate network and infrastructure,
including network administration (new user creation, access controls, group
policies), network design, configuring and deploying new infrastructure,
managing the physical and virtual environments and applications, server and
application deployment and upgrades, creating new computer images, templates
and deployment bundles, system monitoring, network performance tuning and network
troubleshooting.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in complex computer and networking infrastructure, firewalls, operating systems, virtual technologies and cloud technologies.
- Advanced knowledge of network security infrastructure including, but not limited to, wide area networks, firewalls, routers and switches.
- Strong understanding of cyber security governance risk and compliance.
- Excellent analytical skills to identify security requirements and relate them to appropriate security controls.
- Well-rounded in-depth technical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to meet time project deadlines, manage constraints and competing deadlines.
