- $92,278.36 - $103,351.57 per annum plus 12% superannuation

This is an exciting new opportunity for a governance professional who is looking for an opportunity to lead the Governance team as we embark on continuous improvement to support the business and our customers.
About the role
The Team Leader Governance is responsible for providing support with governance related activities across Council to facilitate good practice and values. The role is responsible for the coordination, maintenance and communication of robust governance frameworks and supporting policies, system and procedure to meet statutory requirements.
The successful candidate will see themselves as a valuable team leader who will
:
- Oversee the compilation, collation, and distribution of Agendas, Minutes, and Actions that are necessary for the conduct of Council, Committee, and other meetings.
- Provide high level administrative support around the operations and procedural practices to ensure governance records are accurate and filed appropriately.
- Mentor team members, supporting their professional development and growth.
- Develop training programs and information guides for end-users relating to governance activities.
- Develop and refine procedures and processes to ensure continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the delivery of key projects incorporating research, planning, and evaluation.
- Support the provision of accurate advice, support, and information to Council business units regarding governance related functions to promote consistent decision making.
- Maintain Council’s Business Paper system to reflect currency of the various meetings and forums and provide advice and support to staff.
- Provide advice and support to Council business units to support effective practices in the provision of information.
- Work in collaboration with and assist the team, manager and other key stakeholders to achieve business unit goals, work requests, demands and Council priorities.
- Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator Governance & Access to Information.
About you
We are looking for a someone who demonstrates:
- Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent experience in a governance role (preferably within Local Government).
- Extensive demonstrated project management skills and experience, including financial and human resource management.
- Demonstrated experience working with various legislation and maintaining Public Registers.
- Supervisory experience in leading and developing a team.
- Ability to record meeting notes and/or take minutes.
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to exercise initiative, prioritise, and meet deadlines.
- Strong computer skills and ability to work within a range of electronic programs.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- Relevant experience in Local Government, meeting practices and protocols will be highly regarded.

(changes in salary and benefits may be changed with the adoption of the NSW LG Award conditions from 1 July 2026)
