- Permanent Full Time Position, 35 hours per week

- $74,087 - $82,977 per annum plus 12% superannuation

The City Performance directorate underpins the delivery of service excellence by providing expertise in financial services, procurement, governance, customer experience, property services and business technology.
This is an exciting opportunity for an autonomous individual to provide accurate, timely access to information to support the business and our customers.
About the role
The Access to Information Officer is responsible for providing high-quality customer service and supporting the provision of access to information to customers and to meet the statutory requirements.
The successful candidate will see themselves as a valuable team member who will
:
- Provide information and assist with information issues to respond to requests for information from a range of sources.
- Provide advice and support to Council business units to support effective practices in the provision of information.
- Maintain information request records using Council’s Electronic Document Management System (EDRMS) to enable correct storage, access and retrieval of information.
- Promote the positive and collaborative culture and values of the organisation through open, fair and transparent decision making and ethical, professional behaviour.
- Maintain and contribute to the update of Council’s access to information register.
- Work in collaboration with and assist the team, manager and other key stakeholders to achieve business unit goals, work requests, demands and Council priorities.
- Undertake other information tasks and projects (as required).
- Other duties as assigned by the Team Leader Access to Information.
About you
We are looking for a someone who demonstrates:
- Higher School Certificate and/or relevant experience in Information, Business Administration or Records management.
- Demonstrated experience working in processing access to information applications such as Government Information (Public Access) Act, Dividing Fence applications and/or subpoenas.
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to exercise initiative, prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Strong computer skills and ability to work within a range of electronic programs.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- Relevant experience in Local Government in a similar role will be highly regarded.

Salary range: From $74,087.02 to $82,977.63 per annum plus 12% superannuation
(changes in salary and benefits may be changed with the adoption of the NSW LG Award conditions from 1 July 2026)
