The role
Deliver outstanding customer service while supporting the daily operations of the Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre. This role oversees events and bookings, supervises frontline staff, and ensures the Centre operates safely and efficiently during rostered shifts. Acting as the senior staff member on site when management is absent, you will resolve operational issues, support administrative functions, and help create a welcoming, enjoyable environment for all visitors.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Provide direction, coaching and support to casual staff to ensure consistent, high-quality customer service.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and collaborative team culture through effective communication and teamwork.
- Coordinate indoor play centre bookings, events and birthday parties, ensuring smooth delivery and an excellent customer experience.
- Oversee operational and administrative processes, including bookings, record keeping, reporting, social media, website updates, programs and competitions.
- Support stock control and ordering of kiosk supplies, materials and minor assets to maintain efficient Centre operations.
- Assist with staff training and collaborate with the Team Leader and wider Centre team to continuously improve service delivery and customer experience.

You will have
- Senior First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Class C Drivers Licence
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive demonstrated previous experience in facility management or the operation of a sports, recreation or leisure Centre.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in supervising and training staff.
- Demonstrated high level planning, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with team members, external partners, and the community.
- Demonstrated budget management.
- Experience in, and demonstrated understanding of, all WHS legislation and the development of safety documentation, policies and procedures.
- High level of computer literacy and administrational ability.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $71,820 (Grade D, Step1) + 12% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
