About the role:
Are you passionate about data, analytics and technology? As our
Data & Analytics Technical Specialist, you'll play an important role in supporting the performance, reliability and continuous improvement of Unitywater's data and analytics platforms. Working across our Enterprise Data Warehouse, Power Platform and enterprise applications, you'll partner with stakeholders, vendors and technology teams to help deliver trusted data, optimise platform performance and enable better business decisions.
This is a fantastic
fixed-term opportunity to start as soon as possible until April 2027 to deepen your technical expertise, work with modern Microsoft technologies and contribute to a data-driven culture that supports essential services for our communities.
This role is based at either our Maroochydore or Mango Hill Head Offices.
In this role, you'll:
- Support the performance and reliability of our data and analytics platforms, helping ensure critical data and reporting solutions remain accurate, available and fit for purpose.
- Provide specialist technical advice across data, reporting and Power Platform solutions, supporting project delivery, system improvements and business outcomes.
- Partner with stakeholders, vendors and technology teams to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues and deliver practical solutions.
- Promote best practices and continuous improvement across platform performance, governance, security and data management processes.
- Explore new technologies and capabilities, helping identify opportunities to enhance analytics solutions and improve the user experience.

Must have:
- A qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Experience supporting, maintaining and improving applications, data or business intelligence platforms in a complex environment.
- Hands-on experience administering and supporting Microsoft Power Platform, mainly PowerBI.
- Experience working with Azure services, particularly Azure Data Factory, Data Lake Storage or Databricks.
- Strong SQL, Power Query and data management skills, with the ability to work across multiple data sources and reporting solutions.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes and data modelling principles.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and work effectively with both technical and business teams.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills and an interest in continuous improvement.
Nice to have:
- Experience with the CICD process and Azure DevOps
- Experience troubleshooting or developing complex Azure integration components.
- Exposure to Power BI data models, Fabric pipelines, DAX and performance optimisation techniques.
- Knowledge of platform performance, security, governance or support processes.
