Administration Support Officer – Waste and Environment- Darwin The Administration Support Officer – Waste and Environment provides high‑level administrative, financial and records support to the Waste and Environment Unit, assisting with waste and environmental programs, community engagement, and regional projects across the East Arnhem region.
What you’ll do: - Provide administrative support to the Waste and Environment Unit, including travel bookings, procurement, records management and general office tasks in line with Council procedures.
- Assist with accounts payable/receivable, purchase orders, invoicing and related enquiries.
- Prepare and maintain correspondence, reports, minutes and records to support Unit operations.
- Support waste, environmental and community engagement programs through administrative coordination and stakeholder communication.
- Provide administrative assistance for Unit projects, events and activities.
- Comply with all Health and Safety Policies and Legislation in the performance of all duties and responsibilities.
- Undertake other duties, consistent with skills and experience, as directed by the Regional Manager – Waste and Environment.
What we’re looking for: - Proven experience delivering high‑level administrative support and working effectively in a team.
- Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting processes.
- Strong administrative skills with proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook, and ability to learn new systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels and in cross‑cultural environments.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing workloads.
- Current NT Manual C Class Driver Licence.
What you’ll receive: - A competitive salary $78,219.80 - $82,983.08 per year, excluding super), with annual reviews under the Enterprise Agreement
