Lendlease has a fantastic opportunity for an External Affairs Manager to join the team based in Melbourne. The role is an integral part of an Australia-wide Corporate Affairs function with a focus on reputation management primarily across Lendlease’s business in Victoria, and other states. It is responsible for the delivery of an integrated communications, media, and stakeholder strategy across multiple business units and projects. Your responsibilities will include:
Develop and deliver Lendlease’s external affairs strategy for Victoria and other states, including media, communications, issues management and industry engagement activities
Execute communications strategies and campaigns in collaboration with teams across projects, marketing and corporate affairs
Media management across the business, developing and maintaining relationships with relevant property, business, urban affairs and trade media.
Provide state-wide issues management support
Work with relevant business leads and corporate affairs team with strategy and implementation of the state government and industry relations activities
Support business leaders to prepare for external engagements including speaking events, roundtables and interviews
Produce communications materials including media releases, briefing notes, and other content for reports, website and social media and anticipate communications needs across projects and milestones
About you:
You will be a proactive person with experience working in corporate, government or industry with strong stakeholder management skills. You’ll have the ability to manage multiple priorities and fast-moving situations and issues, with strong media management skills. You will also have:
Demonstrated experience in media or communications, including direct media engagement
Demonstrated issues management experience
Ability to identify and foresee emergent issues to mitigate reputational and business risk
Demonstrated ability to identify newsworthy topics and story angles, pitch to media and manage incoming enquiries
Ability to develop strong partnerships with peers to remain up to date with current opportunities and issues
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to disseminate information, facilitate decision making and build relationships with key stakeholders.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, journalism and/or public relations
