Reporting to the Coordinator Work Health and Safety, you will play a key role in supporting the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Team to deliver the following functions:
- Workers compensation and injury management
- Work health and safety
- City’s wellness program
We can offer you the opportunity to learn more about WHS legislation and compliance issues in all facets of health and safety practices on a daily basis, across a diverse workforce. You will assist the team as they provide accurate and timely advice to the organisation, ensuring we continue to meet compliance and legislative requirements. Applying your strong interpersonal and communication skills, you’ll foster the ongoing development of a safety culture and associated positive behaviours across all levels of the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist with implementing education, training and awareness raising sessions
- Maintenance of work health and safety registers and online systems
- Promote a culture that prioritises employee safety and wellness
- Assist with staff injury management (both work and non-work related illness and injury)
- Event coordination to ensure the smooth running of the City’s Wellness Expo
- General administration duties
To be successful, you will require
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or related qualification, and/or strong relevant experience
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Highly confidential approach to work
- Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and tact
- Knowledge of injury management and return to work programmes
- Strong administrative experience, preferably in a work health and safety administration role
- Excellent customer service skills
We are offering a gross salary of $83,781 to $89,652 per annum depending on skills and experience. But this job is so much more than the money!
