About the role…
Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, the Data & AI Products Leader will drive the strategy, development, and adoption of high-impact data products and AI solutions across EnergyAustralia ensuring alignment with business objectives. Responsibilities include:
- Define and champion the strategic vision, investment framework, platform architecture and high‑level roadmap for enterprise data and AI products, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and market trends
- Oversee the end‑to‑end lifecycle of data and AI solutions—from ideation and discovery through agile development, launch, iterative optimization, to controlled retirement
- Coordinate with Platform and Data Engineering teams to define requirements, prioritize infrastructure, and advance platform development for data products
- Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary team of Product Owners, Analysts, and Data Scientists—empowering them on agile delivery, customer‑centricity, and continuous learning
- Manage strategic relationships with external vendors, technology partners, and consultants involved in data product development, AI solutions, or specialized analytics capabilities
- Champion enterprise‑wide literacy through training, internal forums, best‑practice guides, and peer communities that empower responsible, data‑driven decision‑making

You bring a strong track record of scaling cross‑functional teams in complex corporate or professional services environments and know how to bridge your deep technical expertise with commercial strategy to drive adoption, elevate organisational data literacy, and maximise return on every data investment. Additionally;
- Tertiary Qualification in computer science, information technology, business systems or other relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent significant practical experience
- Minimum 8-10 years in product management, with at least 5 years leading data or analytics products
- Proven background working in a data warehousing and/or analytical environments which may include the use of mathematics, statistics, research or related disciplines
- Strong background in agile product development methodologies and digital product management
- Experience with design thinking, user experience research, and customer journey mapping & proficiency with product management tools like Jira & Confluence
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in business case development and ROI analysis
- Experience with Data technologies such as AWS Cloud, Redshift, Databricks, Deltalakes, DBT and Fivetran
- Excellent communication skills - an open and collaborative communicator with proven ability to influence outcomes based on clear and concise messaging
- Strong history of leading, fostering and developing cross-functional teams from Graduate to Senior level.
- You're passionate and up to date on all developments in the Artificial Intelligence / LLM space.
