To be successful in this role you will have exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability build and maintain effective working relationships throughout all levels of the organisation. You will be proactive, flexible and have the ability to manage multiple complex human resources matters within tight deadlines. You will have an ability to adapt your approach based on stakeholder requirements and be able to balance impartiality with upholding empathy in emotional situations. You will thrive in a fast paced environment, being responsible for providing professional and comprehensive human resource expertise, guidance and advice to the organisation.
The People & Culture Business Partner is responsible for:
- Working closely with the leadership team to support Council's objectives through workforce strategies
- Supporting and administering workplace change, ensuring Council's organisational structure is fit for purpose
- Maintaining current knowledge of human resources best practice, legislation and compliance with Award
- Supporting and advising on performance management, grievance and investigation procedures
- Undertaking position and salary evaluations and supporting structural change strategies
- Consulting with key stakeholders in relation to recruitment needs
- Key human resource projects as directed
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or similar or equivalent relevant experience
- Capacity to work flexibly and a desire to continuously improve the way Council operates
- The ability to interpret and apply Awards, legislation, policy and procedures
- Experience in industrial relations and supporting the performance management process
- The capacity to work with and manage emotional and stressful situations
- The ability to work well in a team and to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of the end-to-end recruitment process
- A current drivers licence
- Experience in understanding personality and behavioural models

Salary range: Grade 17 - $98,142.68 - $106,199.05 per annum plus superannuation, for a 35 hour work week.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
