The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake hands on experience in a work environment whilst completing a nationally recognised qualification, completing a Cert III in Horticulture.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
The Trainee Operator, AELEC is responsible for undertaking operational activities associated with the provision of horticulture and recreational services in Councils Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre (
AELEC) facility.
OPPORTUNITIES EXIST FOR:

- Successful completion of a Certificate level qualification – nationally recognised;
- Opportunities for skills development in equipment including varied plant operation
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- To be eligible and willing to undertake a Traineeship towards attaining a Certificate III in Horticulture
- A Current Driver Licence (P1 & P2 is acceptable)
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Experience working effectively in a team environment (work, school, sport)
- The ability to problem solve and take initiative with a positive can-do attitude
- A genuine interest in building a career in your chosen area.

Salary range: Grade T4 - $827.40 per week plus 12% superannuation for a 38 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
