About the role:

The Hills Shire Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Resource Recovery team as a Resource Recovery Project Officer. This position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, as it involves developing and implementing a wide range of waste and resource recovery strategies, projects, and programs that make a real impact.
What this role looks like:
- Responsible for the development and implementation of waste and resource recovery strategies, projects, program and activities
- Proactively undertaking project work identified within relevant plans and policies
- Develop, administer and analyse reports
- Resolve customer phone, online and face-to-face enquiries.
- Participate in joint projects, programs and events with local, regional, state and other relevant bodies
- Assist with the planning and delivery of educational programs, events, activities and projects
What are we seeking in our new team member:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environment or a related field
- Minimum 3 years relevant waste and resources recovery industry experience
- Local government experience in a similar position (desirable)
- Drivers Licence (Class C) – NSW
- High level interpersonal, organisational, verbal and written communication skills
- A self-motivated problem-solver that has the ability to develop practicals solutions, whilst applying project management skills and waste policy knowledge
Position details:
Competitive rate of pay $94K, pro-rata (excluding superannuation) + Vehicle Allowance $14,607 per annum
