About the role
In this dynamic role, you will create high-quality content across a wide range of social media and digital platforms, support internal staff with communications strategies and advice and help bring community-facing campaigns to life. You’ll be working in a small committed team of communications professionals where no two days are ever the same!
Duties include but are not limited to
- Creating engaging promotional content across the Council’s social channels using video, reels, stories and posts
- Producing other content such as the fortnightly e-news and coordinating updates for the Council’s website and intranet
- Editing and proofing internal documents and applying the Council’s communications protocols as required
- Working with the communications team and internal clients to provide high quality communications advice and campaign management
- Creating and sourcing images and footage for use in video and other digital platforms as required.
Essential criteria
- A minimum of five years experience working as a communications advisor in a corporate communications team
- A minimum of two years experience creating a wide range of content for digital and social media
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proven ability to work with all levels of an organisation
- A solid background in Campaign Monitor, Meta Business Suite and CMS, ideally Open Cities
- Proven experience in photography and videography for social media
- A basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
