About the role
Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Undergraduate Planner to join our dynamic Development Assessment Services team.
This is a unique opportunity for a current student to gain practical experience while contributing to the planning and development of the area.
Reporting to the Team Leader Development Assessment, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the preparation and review of development applications and planning reports
- Support the development of urban design and planning strategies for the local area
- Undertake research and analysis of land use, zoning, and planning policies
- Provide administrative and technical support to the Development Assessment Services team
- Assist in community engagement and consultation processes
- Contribute to environmental sustainability initiatives in planning practices
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Currently in the penultimate year or at the beginning of the final year of an undergraduate degree in Town Planning
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
- Competent in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment

* Salary for this position is as per the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
* Candidates must be enrolled in and studying the qualification for the duration of the employment term in order to be eligible
