Street Sweeper Operator (Ref: 1288)
About the position:
The Street Sweeper Operator undertakes operational activities associated with the provision of street sweeping services to the City of Greater Geraldton, working under direction to ensure all work is carried out within agreed programs and budget constraints and in compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, City policies, procedures and relevant Australian standards.
This position works a 9 day fortnight with every second Friday as a non-working day.
Key accountabilities:
- Carry out sweeping of roads and car parks to the required standards and in line with agreed service levels.
- General operation of plant and hand tools, carry out maintenance and/or labour duties as required.
- Operate plant and specialised street sweeper equipment in a competent and safe manner, and in accordance with the sweeper truck safe operating procedure.
- Ensure that regular routine daily maintenance for the sweeper truck is carried out in accordance with City procedures and that relevant log books and pre-start are completed.

Position requirements:
We're looking for someone who ideally holds an HR licence and has hands-on experience with the safe operation of plant and equipment used in street sweeping. Experience operating a sweeper truck is highly regarded—but not essential.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
A salary starting from $76,072 per annum or $38.4981 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
