Title: Information Access Officer, Permanent - Full-time Role, 35 hours per week
Salary Range: $69168.4 to $80384.88 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

The Access to Information Officer will have responsibility to meet Councils day-day obligations under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 with respect to the processing of informal GIPA requests.

Our opportunity:
The key focus areas of this role include:
1) Coordinating Public Access to Information – Informal GIPA requests:
Manage and process requests for public access to information, ensuring compliance with the GIPA Act and related legislation. Conduct research, assess requests, and make decisions to support Council’s obligations for transparency and privacy.
2) Providing Expert Advice and Customer Service:
Respond to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, offering clear advice and support. Promote a culture of excellent customer service and uphold Council values in every interaction.
3) Maintaining Records and Ensuring Compliance:
Maintain accurate records and documentation to safeguard sensitive and confidential information. Ensure all processes align with legislative, policy, and procedural requirements, supporting Council’s governance and assurance standards.
About you:
You’re committed to transparency and privacy and want to make a positive impact in your community. As part of our Information Access and Privacy Team, you bring a strong work ethic, experience in information management and privacy, knowledge of the GIPA Act, and the ability to manage competing priorities, deliver results, and embrace new technology.
