About the role
Are you passionate about communications, media and community engagement?
Council is seeking a motivated and dynamic Communications Undergraduate to join their team.
In this role you’ll gain invaluable experience while supporting the communications team in delivering communications campaigns and digital content.
This is a fantastic opportunity to build your professional skills and contribute to meaningful projects within the local community.
Reporting to the Communications Coordinator, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in creating engaging content for Council’s website, social media channel and e-news.
- Support the development of media releases and communications materials
- Collaborate on projects that promote community engagement and local events
- Provide administrative support to the communications team as needed
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Currently enrolled in the penultimate or final year of an undergraduate Communications degree or a relevant discipline
- Competent in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Basic understanding of social media platforms and digital communication tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Salary for this position is as per the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
* Candidates must be enrolled in and studying the qualification for the duration of the employment term in order to be eligible
