Our City Works department is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious person to join our Facilities Presentation team to be responsible for cleaning and maintaining a variety of public assets across our city. From playgrounds and skate parks to BBQs, bus shelters, footpaths and beaches, your work helps create a positive experience for residents and visitors alike.
You will work both independently and as part of a supportive team, using small plant and cleaning equipment to deliver high-quality results across a rotating schedule. This is a hands-on, physically active role where every day is different, and your work truly matters.
Your key focus areas are:
- Undertake a broad range of tasks associated with the cleaning of public facilities such as paths, BBQ’s, bus shelters, graffiti removal, beach cleaning, playgrounds, skate parks, CBD areas, benches and fish cleaning tables, and litter collection.
- Operate small items of plant in accordance with policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
- Work with minimal supervision to carry out a broad range of tasks associated with facility cleaning functions.
- Ensure that all activities are undertaken to the required legislative standards, practices and standard operating procedures, including WHS, quality and environmental controls
- Ensure a high level of customer service in all dealings with internal and external customers and stakeholders

You are someone who takes pride in your work and understands the importance of clean, safe public spaces. You are reliable and enjoy working outdoors in all conditions. You can manage your time well, follow safety procedures, and complete tasks with minimal supervision. You bring a strong sense of responsibility, a great work ethic, and a commitment to doing the job right every time.
Specifically, you will have:
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and undertake a scheduled maintenance program within established timeframes and guidelines
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering excellent frontline customer service through well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Practical understanding and application of safety, quality and environmental controls relevant to a public facility cleaning role.
- Experience in the safe use of cleaning chemicals and plant relevant to the role including but not limited to high-pressure cleaning equipment, mechanical mall sweepers, paint sprayers, electric sanders and other plant as needed.
- Class C Driver’s licence with the ability and willingness to obtain a minimum LR Driver’s Licence.
