What we are looking for We are seeking an experienced Greenkeeper to join Council's Parks and Gardens Team! As part of this team, you’ll bring hands-on experience in turf management and plant operation, particularly with cylinder and rotary cut mowers. With a Certificate III in Horticulture (Turf) or Sports Turf Management (or equivalent experience), and a minimum of 2 years' experience in the field, you’ll take pride in keeping our parks, ovals, and facilities looking their best! This is an exciting opportunity to work with an ever-changing dynamic team within the Mid-Western Regional Council. The salary range being offered for this full-time position of is $2498.60 - $2813.00 gross per fortnight plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $64,963.60 - $73,138. (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience) Key Accountabilities - Carry out all maintenance on sporting grounds including but not limited to inspecting, turf maintenance, spraying, renovating, aerating and rehabilitation in accordance with Council policies and as directed.
- Plan maintenance, renovation and planting programs to meet operational requirements and event guidelines, ensuring works are completed in accordance with Council’s specifications.
- Carry out maintenance to irrigation systems including watering and ensure automatic sprinkler systems work; repairs to sprinkling heads and controllers are undertaken in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
- Review Safe Work Method Statements and standard operating procedures for tasks as required.
- Carry out regular inspections of all plant, equipment, systems and facilities and undertake maintenance in accordance with Council’s maintenance schedules.
- Respond to public enquiries in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring that all complaints are addressed promptly and appropriately. Refer complex or specific matters to the Sportsground Coordinator.
- To work in other areas of Parks and Gardens when requested.
- To be available for out of hours (on call) duties.
- To undertake additional tasks, projects, or responsibilities as directed by management, in line with skills, competence and training.
- To actively promote and demonstrate the core values and behavioural requirements of the Workplace Environment Statement.
