At a high level the position is to provide strategic leadership, guidance, and support to the Civic Place Management team to achieve
best practice management and operation of Council’s facility including properties, buildings, grounds, and associated infrastructure assets to ensure ongoing provision of satisfactory levels of service to all occupiers and end users.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is a great opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the development and growth of the compliance investigations team.
In this role, you will be undertaking complex compliance investigations with a high level of customer and solutions focus. The role has responsibility for the investigation, enforcement and resolution of unlawful building and development. You will enforce conditions of development consent by ensuring that applicants, owners, builders and developers comply with the conditions of their consent.
You will also issue appropriate directions, notices, and orders to regulate activity and investigate and resolve customer complaints in a timely and expedient manner.
ABOUT YOU:
The successful applicant will have:
- Degree, Graduate Diploma or Diploma in Building, Engineering, Construction field or equivalent.
- Current Class C NSW Drivers Licence.
- WHS White Card
- Demonstrated experience in building and development compliance and dealing with unauthorised building work
- High-level judgement and issue management skills
- Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously with minimal supervision, whilst also demonstrating a high level of collaboration across the team and with key stakeholders
- Excellent knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Local Government Act 1993 and other local government related and regulatory legislation
- Excellent knowledge of the framework of development assessment and enforcement in NSW or similar jurisdiction
- Ability to interpret relevant legislation and policies, including environmental planning instruments, and to make appropriate decisions bearing in mind the legislative requirements.
