JOB DESCRIPTION:
Liverpool City Council is looking for a Coordinator Waste who will support the Manager Waste Services to ensure effectively and efficient waste services to the community as well as to manage projects bringing them in on time and within budget. This is a key position within the Waste Services business unit, and you will be required to assist the team and provide professional expertise. Key responsibilities include:

- Coordinating the Waste teams activities efficiently and effectively, in particular, plan, organise, lead, control and monitor all programs, including logistical requirements for the completion of works. Liaise with and coordinate contracted activities.·
- Ensuring that there is a good working relationship with internal/external customers and liaise with them on a regular basis to ascertain their needs are being met. This includes regular meetings with other Coordinators within Operations and the broader organisation to achieve corporate goals.
- Demonstrating experience in the provision of input into the budget processes for the Waste team, through the accurate estimation of service requirements, plant and consumable requirements and the future needs of the unit.
- Demonstrating experience in the creation and establishment of contracts and tenders for the goods and services required within the Waste team.
ABOUT YOU
You are proactive and have a good understanding of the process of waste collection and disposal in a Local Government environment who thrives on delivering quality outcomes for the community. You bring a collaborative approach, strong leadership skills, and the ability to balance competing priorities in a complex local government environment.
To be successful, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Cleansing and Waste and/or Management
- A current Class C driver’s licence.
- Extensive technical experience in the cleansing and waste field.
- Experience in the operation of relevant computer software applications (eg Microsoft Office including Word and Excel and Microsoft Project).
- Demonstrated experience in the supervision of a multi-disciplined workforce.
- Demonstrated experience in relevant financial administration and budget control.
- Demonstrated experience in managing the expectation of internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of tenders and contracts for Waste and Cleansing.
