Join Our Team – Environmental Health Officer
Mildura Rural City Council is seeking a qualified Environmental Health Officer to deliver high-quality public health services across our community.
About the Opportunity:
The Environmental Health Officer is responsible for delivering high-quality environmental health services to reduce illness and disease risks and improve community health and wellbeing. This includes ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and supporting Council’s strategic objectives.
What you will bring:
- A Graduate Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health (or equivalent) as listed in the Victoria Government Gazette for appointment as an Environmental Health Officer.
- Strong understanding of environmental health legislation and ability to interpret and apply it in practice with experience conducting inspections, investigations, and enforcement activities under public health laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, being able to prepare clear reports, engage with diverse audiences, and build positive relationships through negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Strong organisational and analytical ability demonstrating skill at managing competing priorities, solving problems, and exercising sound judgement in complex situations.
- Eligible for membership with Environmental Health Professionals Australia.
- Current satisfactory Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current driver’s licence.
Salary and Conditions
The position is classified within
Band 6 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $93,602 to $101,911 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
