About the role:
The successful candidate will be studying an engineering degree whilst working with and supporting Councils Strategic Assets Management team. The successful candidate will learn and assist in carrying out works as directed to the highest standard possible. The role will include responsibilities such as assisting in scoping and planning minor asset-related projects or investigations; optimising processes, procedures for data capture and mapping; assisting in developing an asset management plan for all lighting assets and specifications; and working with the strategic assets management team to undertake site inspections relating to development applications or asset condition assessments.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
Currently completing an Engineering degree, be in their penultimate or final years of study and a university registered student. The course must be able to be completed part time within a 2-year period.
Demonstrates skills in relation to data collection, manipulation and data presentation using packages such as Excel, Access, Asset Information System, Word, and Microsoft Project.
Strong customer service skills
Current class C Drivers Licence
Strong interpersonal skills and organisational skills
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated application of analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills in a team environment
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
