About the Role
This senior leadership role provides strategic direction across the People, Customer and Communications functions to support delivery of Council’s Community Plan and long-term objectives. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the role drives collaboration, organisational transformation and a strong customer-centric culture.
The position leads contemporary people and customer frameworks, oversees Council-wide communications and marketing, and ensures clear, accessible engagement with the community. It provides strategic advice to the Executive Leadership Team and Council, supports policy development, and champions a positive, high-performance organisational culture.
The role plays a key part in building workforce capability, employee engagement and continuous improvement, while contributing to corporate governance and senior-level Council activities
About you
To succeed in this role, you will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Communications or another relevant discipline and bring senior-level expertise in People, Customer and Communications. You are a strategic and visionary leader who drives high-performing teams and delivers real community impact, building collaborative relationships across government, industry and community stakeholders. With outstanding communication skills and commercial acumen, you have the ability to simplify complex issues, influence at every level, and foster a results-driven, customer-focused culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
