Join Georges River Council as a Development Assessment Planner (a number of new positions available)

Georges River Council is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Development Assessment Planner to join our team. In this dynamic role, you’ll be responsible for assessing a diverse range of development applications, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and Council policies. You’ll conduct site inspections, prepare comprehensive reports, and provide expert advice to developers, residents, and stakeholders on planning matters.
As a key member of the Development and Building team, you’ll play a vital role in promoting efficient and courteous service delivery, liaising across Council departments and with external authorities. You’ll also contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes, represent Council in the Land and Environment Court when required, and support strategic planning through accurate data provision. What We offer

- Salary from $97,312.49 - $112,750.82 per annum plus 12% superannuation

What We Are Looking For
- Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or equivalent
- NSW Class C Drivers Licence
- Current knowledge of Building and Town Planning practices, specifically in Local Government
- Demonstrated experience in local government, building or planning organisations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively and sensitively with the community, the Councillors, other professionals involved in the development industry and internal stakeholders
- Skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team
- Ability to present accurate, clear, concise and timely reports on matters effecting the Directorate’s operations
- Ability to implement new planning concepts and procedures
- Proven ability to solve problems with effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge and understanding of WH&S and EEO policies and procedures
