ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
We are offering a great opportunity for an experienced and motivated person to join our Communications team. This position plays a key role within a dynamic and professional team focused on enhancing community engagement with Council’s services, programs and initiatives. A focus of the role is to contribute to the development and delivery of communication and marketing plans, with an emphasis on producing high-quality, creative content. You will support the timely creation and publication of engaging collateral across a range of digital and traditional media channels, helping to strengthen Council’s public presence and connection with the community.
Hours of work for this part time position are 28 hours per week.

- Tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in communications, marketing or a related field
- Demonstrated high level experience in producing copy across all media, including the ability to adapt writing style to suit a wide range of printed and online publications and target audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts.
- High level oral and presentation skills with the ability to work effectively and communicate with community groups, staff members, Councillors and other levels of government.
- Desktop publishing skills and experience.
- High level computer literacy with experience in the Microsoft 365, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
- Sound time management skills including the ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience using a Content Management System (CMS) for both website content management and corporate records, including an understanding of record-keeping obligations and governance requirements.

- A part time annual salary range of $63,800 to $73,200 (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
