Toll Aviation is offering an exciting Trades Assistant opportunity based in our Mascot location - perfect for someone eager to build practical skills and start a long‑term career in the sector.
About the Role
As a Trades Assistant, you’ll support our engineering team to ensure our aircraft are clean, fuelled, prepared, and ready at all times. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be part of daily hangar and ground operations, learning from highly skilled engineers and aviation specialists.
What You'll Be Doing
- Helping engineers with day‑to‑day tasks
- Cleaning and washing aircraft (inside and out)
- Assisting with aircraft towing
- Refuelling aircraft and completing basic fuel checks
- Preparing stretchers and supporting patient transfers
- Maintaining hangar cleanliness and safety
- Completing basic maintenance on ground support equipment
- Following safety procedures and supporting a strong safety-first culture
More about you:
- Keen to work in aviation and start an industry career
- Hands‑on, practical, and enjoys active work
- Safety‑focused with a reliable, can‑do attitude
- Happy working independently or within a team
- A good communicator who enjoys helping others
- Organised, adaptable, and willing to learn
- Airside driving experience (advantageous not essential)
- Any experience around aircraft or in a hangar environment (advantageous not essential)
Essential Requirements
- A current valid driver’s licence
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel)
- Eligibility to work in Australia
- Ability to obtain an ASIC
- Ability to meet drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Relevant vaccinations as required under contracts
