The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a compliance focused professional to ensure Council’s procurement, purchasing, contracts, and finance activities adhere to relevant policies, procedures, legislation, and standards. This role will oversee compliance programs and reporting, monitor effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement to support Council’s commitment to serving the Bega Valley Shire community with integrity, transparency, and efficiency.
As a Procurement Compliance and Reporting Officer, you will lead and manage reporting across procurement, purchasing, contracts, and finance while driving continuous improvement initiatives to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. You will also develop and maintain procurement templates and tools, and analyse and present data clearly to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.

About You
We are seeking an individual who holds a Certificate IV qualification (or higher) in purchasing, procurement, tendering, contracts, or similar related qualification, or willing to work towards.
You will have the following skills and experience;
- In-depth understanding of public sector governance, legislative compliance, and procurement policies, with the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure adherence within the Procurement and Contracts team.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a compliance, audit, or reporting role, ideally within a procurement, purchasing or related environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, as well as standard computer software applications including Microsoft suite and financial management systems.
- Proven ability to develop and implement compliance monitoring programs and reports, and to identify and address any areas of non-compliance providing insights and recommendations as needed.
Benefits
This is afixed term full timeposition working 35 hours per week for a period of two (2) years.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $87,662.85 gross per annum, comprising of:
- $1,505.20 per week base salary
- $180.62 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%)
