About the role:
We are seeking a permanent Strategic Transport and Traffic Coordinator to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of transport across our City. In this influential position, you will lead the planning and delivery of Council’s strategic transport and traffic programs—driving innovative projects from concept to implementation through consultation, advocacy, strategy and policy development.
You will be the go-to lead for high-profile, city-shaping initiatives, inspiring creativity and best-practice thinking within the team while delivering real, on-the-ground outcomes for our community. Success in this role will be underpinned by your ability to build strong, trusted partnerships—particularly with Transport for NSW and a broad network of external stakeholders—to influence outcomes and champion Council’s strategic transport vision.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key qualifications, training skills and attributes:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and / or extensive experience in traffic and transport planning and
implementation of major proposals, including liaison with key Transport stakeholders
• Extensive experience and knowledge in at least one of the following functions: strategic
planning, transport planning or traffic engineering.
• Proven experience in problem solving through research and application of in-depth expertise and
make judgements or recommendations based on an innovative and progressive approach.
• Be an effective communicator able to provide planning and technical advice relating to design
methods, techniques and equipment.
• Proven experience in leading a team, with demonstrated skills to provide motivation, leadership and
support to staff members.
• Exceptional report writing and review skills. - Current Class C driver’s license.
