Logistics Coordinator – Lytton, QLD
About the Role and Opportunity -
Are you ready to take the wheel in planning and coordinating freight movements across our dynamic network. This role sits at the centre of operations, acting as the primary coordination point between customers, subcontractors, carriers and internal teams to ensure service continuity and rapid response to operational challenges.
You will be responsible for organising daily and weekly transport requirements, compiling and optimising loads, coordinating subcontracted carriers and ensuring full compliance with Chain of Responsibility obligations. The role requires a strong operational mindset, excellent communication skills and the confidence to make decisions in time‑critical, high‑risk environments, including Dangerous Goods freight.
Key Responsibilities, but not limited to –
Plan and schedule LTL and FTL freight movements to optimise vehicle utilisation, axle weight compliance and correct vehicle selection, including road train configurations.
Coordinate subcontractors and internal fleet resources to deliver seamless, cost‑effective transport operations.
Monitor live transport activities, proactively manage disruptions and implement effective contingency plans to protect service levels.
Ensure full compliance with NHVR and Chain of Responsibility requirements, covering mass, fatigue, maintenance and load restraint.
Manage Dangerous Goods movements across both road and air, ensuring all regulatory and safety obligations are met.
Maintain accurate TMS records, track KPIs, investigate service failures or incidents and drive continuous improvement across safety, service and cost performance.
What we’re looking for –
Minimum five years’ experience within a general freight network, ideally in a Tier 1 transport environment or similar.
Strong technical knowledge of transport operations, including Dangerous Goods across road and air, LTL and FTL movements, axle weights, load restraint and vehicle configurations.
Solid understanding of Chain of Responsibility and NHVR compliance requirements spanning mass, fatigue and maintenance.
Hands‑on transport background supported by strong computer skills, customer management capability and the confidence to engage effectively with customers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
