The Opportunity: The "All-Rounder" of the Road
We don’t just need an operator; we need a versatile professional ready to keep our region moving. Based in
Urana but working across the entire
Federation Council area, you will be the "go-to" person to backfill across our diverse crews.
Your role will include:
- Diverse Teams: Step into our grader, construction, road patching, slashing, and signage crews.
- Dynamic Work: Provide essential cover during staff leave to ensure our operations never skip a beat.
- Daily Variety: Your duties and plant requirements will change day-to-day under the direction of the Works Overseer.
What You Bring to the Crew (Criteria to be addressed as part of your application)
To hit the ground running, you’ll need:
- A current and valid Heavy Combination (HC) driver’s licence.
- Proven competencies across a range of major plant and equipment.
- Hands-on experience in road maintenance and construction for both sealed and unsealed surfaces.
- The technical know-how to service and maintain plant to keep it in peak operational condition.
- A "safety first" mindset with a thorough understanding of WHS practices.
- A positive attitude and the ability to contribute to a productive team environment.

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and conditions of employment. The salary commences at $1,242.40 per week plus Award allowances, with progression up to $1,371.30 per week plus Award allowances dependent upon skills and experience.
