Your Typical Day
In this dynamic role, you will be a key player in maintaining our roads, bridges, footpaths, and drainage systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating Heavy Plant: Confidently handling Water Carts, Rollers, Tractors, and MR/HR Trucks.
- Equipment Care: Performing daily minor servicing and pre-start safety checks to keep our fleet in top shape.
- Safe Transport: Delivering plant and materials safely to job sites.
- Safety First: Managing traffic control duties with professional signage and barriers to keep the public and your team safe.
- Reporting: Keeping accurate timesheets and reporting any asset faults to your Team Leader promptly.
What You Bring to the Team (Selection Criteria to be addressed as part of your application)
We are looking for a proactive problem-solver who takes initiative. To be successful, you will need:
- The Right Licence: A current and valid Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence.
- Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in road maintenance or construction.
- Safety Credentials: A Construction Induction (White Card).
- Traffic Management: NSW Traffic Management Certificates (or the ability to get them within 3 months of starting).
- WHS Knowledge: A strong understanding of safety practices in high-risk environments.

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and conditions of employment. The salary commences at $1,212.10 per week with progression up to $1,337.90 per week dependent upon skills and experience.
