Technical Officer - Transport
About the role
We are seeking a motivated Technical Officer – Transport to support the survey, design and delivery of transport infrastructure across the Cabonne community. In this role, you will provide technical input into road and stormwater projects and contribute advice to other departments to support compliant and high‑quality outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
- Assist with the design, documentation and delivery of transport infrastructure projects
- Collect and manage field and asset data to support planning and decision‑making
- Provide technical advice on development applications and infrastructure proposals
- Use civil design, drafting and GIS software to support project delivery
- Support operational staff and contractors during project delivery
- Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation
- Work safely and in accordance with Council’s WHS policies and Code of Conduct
About you
You have a qualification in civil engineering (or equivalent experience) and at least two years’ experience in a similar role. You are technically capable, well organised and enjoy working across both office and field environments. You communicate clearly, work well in a team, and take pride in delivering practical, customer‑focused solutions within a safety‑first and ethical workplace.
Essential requirements
- Diploma‑level qualification in civil engineering or equivalent experience
- White Card and Class C driver’s licence
- Experience using civil design, drafting and GIS software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret standards, legislation and technical information
