The Priority Reforms Unit (PRU)
The PRU is seeking APS5/6 Project Officers to assist with project work for this newly created unit. The PRU will oversee the governance, resourcing and accountability to further drive the scope and the ambition of AIHW against the framework of the Priority Reforms, and to ensure our work contributes to the health and wellbeing of First Nations people as effectively and appropriately as possible. The unit will empower communities through improved access to data, increased data skills and capabilities, and contributing to how the AIHW manages and reports health and welfare data about them.
The National Health Reform Reporting Unit (NHRRU)
The NHRRU is seeking motivated and enthusiastic APS5/6 Project Officers who are interested in contributing to meaningful work that supports improved health outcomes and health system performance, including for First Nations communities. These roles involve extensive stakeholder engagement, including working closely with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health sector and other partners. Project Officers will support the organisation, coordination, drafting and collation of information across a wide range of topics related to health system performance assessment. The ability to engage respectfully, build relationships, and bring cultural knowledge and lived experience to this work is highly valued.
The Primary Healthcare Engagement and Data Development Unit (PHEDDU)
The PHEDDU is seeking an APS6 Data Project Officer to assist with the development of a National Primary Health Care Data Collection, particularly relating to the inclusion of First Nations data in the collection - both from general practices and from Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations. This will involve applying governance of Indigenous data principles, cultural safety and ensuring the active participation by First Nations community in the development of the collection.
The Justice and Education Unit (JEU)
The JEU is seeking an APS6 Data Project Officer to work with the three teams responsible for justice data collections and projects in the unit, to apply governance of Indigenous data principles to these projects. This will support AIHW’s commitment to Closing the Gap priority reforms to work in partnership with First Nations peoples and organisations to improve health and wellbeing outcomes through respectful, culturally informed data and research. The role will assist with the development of the National Prisoner Health Data Collection, particularly the health of First Nations people in prisons, and may include leading the development of culturally informed health outcome indicators.
IT Modernisation Roadmap Delivery Program Unit (MRDPU)
The MRDPU is looking for an APS5 ICT Project Officer to join their team to assist project managers in the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects to ensure timely delivery of business outcomes.
In this role you will work closely with ICT project managers and the unit head as well as technical experts and business stakeholders to coordinate and support delivery of projects. To succeed in this role, you will have a solid understanding of project management, great attention to detail, as well as excellent planning, coordination, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
In general all of the project officers will support projects and programs by undertaking tasks such as:
- planning, managing, and coordinating projects and programs
- contributing to research, project tools, monitoring, reporting and evaluation
- creating communications and documentation to support project delivery
- providing administrative and professional support
- represent the AIHW and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
