Manager Rates and Revenue
The Opportunity
Maitland City Council has an exciting opportunity for a Manager Rates and Revenue, to join our Finance team.
As we move through a period of organisational transformation and leadership renewal, this is your chance to make a genuine impact within our Finance team and shape the future of our revenue operations.
In this role, you will lead the administration of Council's rating, accounts receivable, and debt management functions. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of these areas while working collaboratively as part of the Finance leadership team, to deliver outcomes aligned to Maitland City Council's Operational Plan.
You will ensure Council meets all legislative, regulatory, and policy requirements relating to the calculation and levy of rates and associated charges. In addition, you will prepare forecasts and develop annual rating scenarios to support the development of the Operational Plan.
As a leader, you will inspire and support your team by providing coaching and guidance, while championing our Guiding Principles. Your leadership will contribute to a positive organisational culture and drive the achievement of key operational objectives.
About You

As the Manager Rates and Revenue, you will:
- Be tertiary qualified in Commerce, Business or related discipline.
- Possess extensive experience in profession-specific training / education.
- Expert capabilities in the analysis and management of large volume data, coupled with experience in the use of contemporary financial systems.
- Strong ability to lead, develop and manage high-performing teams.
- Demonstrate high level interpersonal and communication skills with high professional ethics, including the ability to manage sensitive financial matters.
In addition to the above you will possess previous experience mentoring and leading employees. Your values will closely align with our Guiding Principles, and you will thrive off the opportunity to drive collaboration, innovation and enthusiasm organisation wide.
