About the role
This isn’t your typical engineering role. This is your opportunity to shape how an entire region responds to climate challenges, manages its waterways and floodplains, and delivers smarter, more sustainable urban growth. As a Waterway Engineer, you’ll develop and implement strategies and policies, that drive flood resilience and water-sensitive urban design across the City.
Working collaboratively across the organisation, you’ll lead and contribute to meaningful projects that have a visible, real-world impact on the community and environment every day. If you’re motivated by purpose-driven work, value autonomy and collaboration, and want your expertise to genuinely matter - this is a role where you’ll leave a lasting legacy.

About you
You’re a technically capable and forward-thinking engineer with qualifications in civil, environmental, or a related discipline, backed by experience in floodplain management or water-sensitive urban design.
You bring strong communication skills, thrive in collaborative environments, and can confidently translate complex technical information to stakeholders.
