About Central West Libraries
Central West Libraries is a regional library services located across the Central Tablelands and Western Slopes of NSW. Established in 1958 the Library Service encompasses the Local Government areas of Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Forbes, Weddin and Orange. The Library Service’s administrative units are located in the Orange City Library building. The Library service covers an area of 18,772 square km and serves a population of 91,857.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager Central West Libraries and based at the Orange City Library, this position is responsible for the delivery of library functions and services for Young People. This also includes:
- Providing high quality, customer focussed readers’ services including circulation duties, reference enquiries and participation in the delivery of events as part of the Central West Libraries team
- Acting as a Desk Supervisor as required including the direction and supervision of staff and handling and referral of issues
- Interacting with the wider community including Councils to maximise the potential reach of library services

So, what do you need?
- Qualifications as a Librarian recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) or equivalent
- NSW Working With Children Check (Or ability to obtain before commencement)
- Experience in a similar role
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, including the capacity to work to deadlines and set priorities
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills that promote high team performance, with the ability to coach, mentor and manage staff
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering library programs, services and events, preferably for young people
- Demonstrated awareness of current library and information trends and an ongoing commitment to professional development
