We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Finance Officer to join our Finance Team. This pivotal role plays a key part in ensuring the delivery of accurate, efficient, and compliant financial services across the organisation.
Reporting within the Finance Team, you will be responsible for end to end expenditure and revenue functions, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, debt recovery, and financial reporting. What this role looks like:
• Manage end-to-end accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoicing, receipts, credit notes and supplier payments
• Perform and manage reconciliations of creditor and debtor accounts, supplier statements, daily banking, sub-systems and the general ledger, promptly investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Perform reconciliations, journals and month-end reporting to support accurate financial records and reporting deadlines
• Monitor outstanding debts and undertake debt recovery activities
• Maintain financial records, registers, and master data (including creditor master files), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with record-keeping requirements.
• Provide advice and information to internal and external stakeholders on expenditure and revenue matters, including payment processes, invoicing, debtor accounts and financial queries.
• Support the implementation, testing and continuous improvement of finance systems, procedures and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy and service delivery.
• Assist with preparation of Notes to the Statutory Financial Statements.
What are we seeking from our Senior Finance Officer
1. 5+ years extensive experience in Financial, Management Accounting and Cost Accounting.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Accounting or similar
3. Member of Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) Australia or Chartered Accountants (CA) Australia or currently studying
4. High level of organisation, communication, analytical & interpersonal skills, eye for detail & high level of accuracy.
5. Intermediate to Advanced skills in Excel and Microsoft Office Tools.
6. Knowledge & understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, Financial Regulations, Codes of Accounting Practice, other legislation including inflation and other factors that affect the Economy.
