ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
We are offering a great opportunity for an appropriately experienced individual to join our Engineering Works section.
Reporting to the Supervisor Utilities Construction, this position plays an important role in delivering the construction and maintenance of the Shire’s water and wastewater infrastructure. Working as part of a collaborative team, the role will support the Supervisor with site set-up, coordination of daily works, and ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.

To be successful you will bring

- Certificate III Water Operations, Civil Construction - Pipe Laying (or a willingness to obtain).
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in the construction maintenance and repair of water and wastewater infrastructure including pipelines, manholes, storage tanks, valve pits and small sewer pump stations.
- Demonstrated experience in the operation of relevant plant items (such as tipper truck, front end loader, backhoe, etc.) and basic mechanical knowledge.
- Class MR driver licence with the ability to operate manual transmission and a safe driving record.
- Work Safely in the Construction Industry Induction ticket (white card).
- Working Near Overhead Power Lines ticket (or willingness to obtain)
- Traffic Control and Implement Traffic Control (or a willingness to obtain)
- Electrofusion Poly Welding certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Trenching and Shoring certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Locate and protect underground services certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Chainsaw Level 1 (Crosscut) ticket (or willingness to obtain).

- A salary range of $61,300 to $70,300 per annum (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
