About the Role:
- Planning and undertaking repairs, replacement and maintenance of mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, treatment plant equipment and chemical dosing systems to ensure equipment is serviced according to agreed standards
- Updating of equipment asset register and maintenance records
- Assist in the planning and co-ordination of maintenance, renewal and new capital projects and prioritise with council employees and contractors
- Attend works meeting when requested by Manager or Engineer to plan work and resolve difficulties to meet work program and annual maintenance schedule
- Assist in the procurement of goods and services
- Provide reports and advice to management in regard to mechanical assets and processes
- Supervising of contractors as required
- Receive training on new technologies and maintenance repair methods to ensure maintenance work is both effective and efficient
- Maintain adopted policies, procedures, processes and systems of work
- Model and reinforce cross-functional collaboration through information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision making, enhance capability and optimise capacity
- Model and reinforce an agile, solutions-focused, accountable and collaborative culture that facilitates workforce engagement, empowerment and performance
- Inform, education and guide employees about their WHS responsibility to maintain a safe workplace
About You:
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Certificate of Proficiency in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
- Work Cover Construction Card (White Card)
- Ability to produce reports, data recording and demonstrated computer literacy skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and schedule maintenance, construction and repairs
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Demonstrated experience working with pumps and an understanding of hydraulic systems
- Demonstrated experience to operate workshop plant and equipment to a high degree of accuracy
Desirable criteria:
- Disconnect/Reconnect Electric Motors
- Forklift Licence
- Confined Space Ticket
- Rigging and Dogging Tickets
- Experience co-ordinating construction and maintenance teams
