THE JOB
Council has an opportunity for a competent and enthusiastic person to join the Management Accounting team assisting the team in an efficient an accurate manner by undertaking tasks in accordance with financial accounting standards and Council’s reporting requirements.
Duties will be general financial duties including data entry, processing journal entries, maintaining and extracting data from Council’s system, maintaining finance records and creating reports.

Essential
- Certificate IV qualification in finance or accounting or equivalent, or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through experience.
- Experience in providing high level in financial administration and system support.
- Demonstrated aptitude for understanding and maintaining specialised software systems.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organise priorities and monitor workflow in a high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a high standard of customer service to internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality and to ensure security of private and sensitive information.
- Current Class C drivers’ licence.
Desirable
- Previous experience in local government accounting
- Experience using Technology One ‘OneCouncil’ system

Snowy Valleys Council is a scenic and heritage rich local government area in the South-West Slopes region of New South Wales which spans 8959km

CONDITIONS
- Temporary, part-time position working 35 hours per fortnight for a period of 12 months.
- Working hours will be 7 hours per day for 5 days per fortnight to be worked between Monday and Friday with the days of work to be agreed with the successful applicant.
- Salary of $2,699.20 - $3,0338.00 per fortnight based on qualifications skills and experience.
- 12% superannuation.
- Remote area salary sacrificing options available
- This position can be based in either the Tumut or Tumbarumba office.
