Key Accountabilities/Duties:
Managing the Courallie Preschool and Early Education Service this position will ensure the service complies with the National Quality Framework, Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, Child Protection legislation and Councils policies and procedures. The position is responsible for leading and supporting a team of Educators, overseeing funding and service operations, and developing relationships with children, families, Council colleagues and the community. This will include:
- Overseeing the service educational program, including undertaking the Educational Leader role when required.
- Ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all children within the centre; that children are protected, and their rights are upheld at all times, and that the service complies with “Keep Them Safe” guidelines.
- Applying conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques with staff and parents for the resolution of issues
- Liaising with other services and agencies, communities and families to advocate for and promote education and care
- Managing and developing staff through implementation of Council’s human resource management systems, policies and procedures
- Monitoring the service budget and ensuring the service is fully utilised.
- Ensuring the service operates in compliance with all Council systems, relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures, and local government requirements.
- Demonstrating the ability to effectively use Council’s software systems and other digital tools to manage the service, support administration, and maintain accurate records and reporting.

What do you need?
- Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood or Primary) or equivalent tertiary qualification
- Extensive experience in a similar role
- Mandatory National Child Safety Training from Geccko (Get early childhood compliance knowledge online)
- Demonstrated effective leadership and supervisory skills, with experience leading and supporting staff
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring and managing service budgets, including resource allocation, expenditure oversight, and maintaining financial sustainability
- Current Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting certificate (HLTAID004) or equivalent
- NSW Working with Children Check
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check
